Meet your Chef: Jose Matamoros

Born in Mexico, José Matamoros has worked in kitchens across Italy, France, and Canada. Upon opening Guelph’s “La Reina”, he worked as Senior Sous Chef at El Catrin in Distillery District, arguably the biggest and busiest Mexican restaurant in Canada. He’s recently taken the position of Chef de Cuisine at 1Kitchen at Toronto’s 1Hotel.
